Choreography is not considered or known as an important or main career. This career as a not so important or basic career doesn’t use the same amount of math and especially trigonometry as some others. It’s difficult to find an application of trigonometry in this career but not impossible. Dancing it’s not as simple as many people say it is. Dance needs something called a planimetry which is the “drawing” of the organization of the dancers and their different movements, without this the dance would be disorganized and with no esthetic, the dance would also seem improvised.Trigonometry is also use in choreography or dancing in the movements. A lot of different movements have angles. With your hands, legs or even with your whole body you can make angles with different measurements. This use has to do also with the coordination of the choreography because every dancer has to make the exact same angle with the same measurement, if not, the dance would seem disorganized, with no esthetic and without coordination, as the dance would seem without the planimetry.
Both of the uses in trigonometry in dance, the planimetry and movements are very important, without them choreography wouldn’t be what it is right now, it wouldn’t even be considered an art because it would seem disorganized and not pleasant for the eyes. This is why trigonometry is important and useful even a little on a career.
Here we have an interview of a friend that is studying Choreography in Florida. Every semester he spends 4,000 on materials, food, etc.
Additional education
There is only one specialization on Choreography, which is named performance, you can study this specialization at Mills College, it will cost US$ 28,880 to finish the specialization.
DEMAND;
In Choreography we can work as a choreographer in dance schools, T.V studios, films, theaters and theme parks, we can also work in night clubs, sports teams and public sides, making new dance numbers and maybe later be asked for performing in different parts of the world as a professional dancer/ choreographer. We expect to have a salary that is as good as the skills we have. So a salary depends on the location (city, country) skills, abilities and the type of job as said before. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), choreographers in 2010 earned a median annual wage of $37,660 per year. The top 10% in the field earned over $71,180 per year, while the bottom 10 % earned less than $18,570 per year.
